On March 20, guests, travel industry professionals, locals and dignitaries gathered for the grand opening of Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall and Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The celebration kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a few words from Wykeham McNeill, minister of tourism and entertainment for Jamaica; Bruce Wardinski, CEO of Playa Hotels & Resorts; Carl Hendriks, general manager for Hyatt Ziva and Zilara Rose Hall; and Portia Simpson Miller, prime minister of Jamaica, among others. The night featured food stands, an aerial dancer and a musical performance from Jamaican recording artist Tessanne Chin, winner of season five of television show “The Voice.”
“The celebration is a culmination of joint efforts among Playa, the people of Jamaica and Hyatt,” Wardinski said. “For more than three years, we have collectively worked to bring to life a sophisticated and inspired resort that would reflect the warmth and gracious service of Jamaica in an exhilarating and unique environment.”
