Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) appointed Karen Hughes as the vice president of Meet Hawaii and travel industry partnerships. Her new role focuses on leading HVCB’s sales efforts for meetings, conventions and incentives as well as the travel trade.
Hughes has more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience with Starwood Hotels & Resorts where she served as vice president of global leisure sales and distribution for six years. She has previously served as regional vice president of sales and marketing for Starwood Hawaii.
“We created a new focus for this position specifically to take advantage of Karen’s talents and depth of experience in developing successful sales strategies and generating results,” said Jon Monahan, HVCB president and CEO.
