Keith Sproule has been named executive director of Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP), Abercrombie & Kent’s philanthropic arm. AKP works with local people and regional nongovernmental organizations to alleviate the effects of poverty; develop sound community health and conservation practices; and assist in mitigating global climate change. Sproule has served two terms as chairman of The International Ecotourism Society, is on the board of Sustainable Travel International and is a board member of 1% For The Tetons, a local chapter of international business alliance 1% for the Planet.
“Keith has worked with indigenous communities around the globe to help preserve traditional cultures, as well as with some of the leading international conservation organizations,” said Jorie Butler Kent, vice chairman of Abercrombie & Kent and founder and president of AKP. “With more than 25 years of experience working to connect tourism, conservation and communities, he brings wide experience and best practices to AKP.”
