Last month, more than 120 travel industry professionals joined the Los Angeles-based China National Tourist Office (CNTO) in welcoming Yanjie Wang as CNTO’s new director for Western U.S. and Central America. Prior to taking the position in Los Angeles, Wang acted as director for the Americas and Europe at China National Tourism Administration headquarters in Beijing. She replaces Weijain Luo, whose outstanding service was also recognized. Luo will now head the CNTO in Sydney, Australia.
“California is a major source market for China,” said Wang. “With China’s expanded connectivity from different cities in the U.S. and the 72-hour visa-free policy in Beijing and Shanghai, I am optimistic that even more Americans will be encouraged to visit and re-visit China.”
