Gianni Onorato, a 30-year veteran of the cruise industry, has been appointed CEO of MSC Cruises. Onorato will be based out of the company’s Geneva headquarters and will report to the board of directors and executive chairman Pierfrancesco Vago.
“Our company has gone through a period of rapid expansion, with 10 new ships built in just under 10 years, three new prototype classes of ship created and 45 offices opened around the globe,” said Vago. “I am confident that the appointment of Gianni will consolidate our management structure, building on its existing strengths and boosting the company’s development plans even further.”
