The Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), in conjunction with Infinite Safari Adventures, brought its annual Meetah Cheetah event to Beverly Hills, Calif., in April. Dr. Laurie Marker, founder and executive director of CCF and one of the foremost experts on cheetahs, conducted a book signing event at the IM Chait Gallery as part of a fundraising tour for CCF. In addition to meeting Dr. Marker, attendees also had the opportunity to meet a cheetah from the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Shiley, as well as his companion dog, Yeti. The event was hosted by CCF trustee and Infinite Safari Adventures owner Alan Feldstein.
Based in Namibia, CCF is dedicated to preserving and increasing cheetah populations in the wild. So far, CCF’s efforts have contributed to increasing the wild cheetah population in Namibia by approximately 50 percent.
