Signature Travel President Michelle Morgan Passes Away

Sep 28, 2013

Michelle Morgan, President of Signature Travel network, passed away on Sept. 17 following complications from a bone marrow transplant. Michelle had been courageously battling breast cancer before her death.

Michelle began her long and distinguished career in the travel industry working for the travel agency, Ask Mr. Foster. She worked as a marketing executive at Carlson Travel Network (formerly Carlson Wagonlit Travel) before joining Signature as executive director in 1991. She was instrumental in driving Signature’s growth and success.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved friend and leader, Michelle Morgan,” said Alex Sharpe, COO of Signature. “Michelle will be missed greatly on both a personal and professional level. With her exemplary drive and commitment, Michelle led the growth of Signature from a modest California co-op in 1991, generating just $30 million in sales, to a $5 billion national travel consortia. Throughout her tenure, Michelle led with courage, grace and humility.”

Michelle is survived by her two daughters, Alisa and Deirdre, and her four grandchildren, Edward, Hack, Hana and Bing.
