Last month, St. Kitts tourism professionals were honored at the St. Kitts Tourism Experience Awards, an annual event designed to elevate standards in the island’s hospitality industry and to encourage the development of a wider range of visitor experiences.
Hosts included Senator Ricky Skerritt, St. Kitts’ minister of tourism and international transport, and guest speaker Colm Lacy, head of commercial – Gatwick at British Airways. Senator Skerritt welcomed guests and She Dore-Tyson, secretary of the board of directors of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, presented awards to individuals and businesses that have promoted St. Kitts tourism with responsible practices, community awareness and long-term dedication.
Among the awards given out were Awards of Excellence to Kendra Jackson of American Airlines and St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority, recognizing their excellent tourism service and responsible practices. The Parks and Beach Unit was recognized with the Environment Award for its efforts to increase community awareness and sustainability, and Konris Maybard was given the National Champion Award for his continuous promotion of tourism on the isl
