The Mark Travel Corporation (TMTC) hosted a summit in Cancun, Mexico, last month for travel agents in order to raise community engagement and spur inspiration. This two-day inaugural summit hosted in October at the Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort allowed travel agents to attend workshops, participate in a give-back program to build bikes for local children, connect with hotel suppliers and hear from four keynote speakers: Lee Brower, founder of Empowered Wealth; Daniel Levine, trends expert; Mike Going, president of Funjet Vacations; and Bill La Macchia Jr., chief engagement officer of TMTC. More than 500 travel agents attended some 90 workshops and a trade show, which featured more than 200 suppliers.
“Supporting the communities that we send our shared customers to is extremely important,” said Mike Going, the summit’s keynote speaker and president of Funjet Vacations, which is owned by TMTC. “The Summit marked the beginning of something great, and it will only get better from here. We are looking forward to making this happen every year and bringing this same, if not higher, level of engagement between travel agents, suppliers and, of course, us.”
