On Oct. 31, Travel Leaders presented the Golden Legacy Award, its highest annual honor, to San Antonio-based franchisee Christy Prescott. Prescott, founder and CEO of one of the largest, privately owned, full-service travel management companies in Texas, received the award during a special presentation at the 2015 Travel Leaders National Meeting, which was held at Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in Florida.
The Golden Legacy Award honors the Travel Leaders Associate (franchisee) whose lifetime achievements best exemplify the franchise system’s entrepreneurial spirit and highest quality standards. In addition to the Golden Legacy Award, Prescott was also honored with Travel Leaders’ Agency of Excellence award. To earn the award, Travel Leaders agencies are scored in several categories that reflect business growth; utilization of marketing programs to effectively reach local consumers; and participation in key training programs to enhance service to their clients, as well as attendance at local and national business networking meetings.
“What Christy started in 1991 with a single, 400-square-foot location in San Antonio has turned into a nearly $200 million travel enterprise that’s now one of the largest, female-owned, full-service travel management companies in Texas and among the top 50 in the country,” said Roger Block, president of Travel Leaders Franchise Group. “Her business thrives by being flexible and responsive to clients’ needs, whether it’s her agency’s significant portfolio of business travel clientele or leisure travel customers, many of whom are looking for luxury experiences.”
