The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) has announced its newly elected directors-at-large.
Joining its Board of Directors for a two-year term are Kelly Bergin, president of OASIS Travel Network; Roger Block, president of Travel Leaders Network; Kareem George, principal for Culture Traveler, LLC; Vanessa McGovern, co-founder and chief sales officer of Gifted Travel Network; and Patricia Thorington, manager of Plaza Travel (elected to a second term). The Board also welcomed Rhonda Shumway, president of TerraMar Travel, Inc. as the director for ASTA Small Business Network and Kathy Bedell, senior vice president of BCD Travel, as the new CAC director. Deb Belchak, president of Lazy Dayz Travel LLC, and Lynda Phillippi, owner of Renaissance Travel: Go with Lynda, are the two new regional directors.
“This year, we almost doubled the number of travel advisors who voted in our last election,” said Dave Hershberger, chairman of the board. “Almost 1,900 eligible members participated, the highest participation rate in recent years.”
