For the first time since the outbreak of COVID-19, the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) held its Out of Country Board Meeting, hosted in Malta and Istanbul, Turkey, from May 5-13.
Senior executives representing USTOA members enjoyed in-depth destination experiences, such as planting trees, taking a tour of Valletta and visiting Malta’s Hagar Qim Temple, as well as touring top sites and embarking on a sunset cruise in Istanbul. As part of USTOA’s celebration of its 50th anniversary this year, the organization is emphasizing sustainable and responsible travel, along with diversity, equity and inclusion.
“It was gratifying to experience these diverse and fascinating destinations and to learn more about their commitment to sustainability in conjunction with USTOA’s plan to set a more sustainable future for the travel industry,” said Terry Dale, president and CEO of USTOA.
