New York City is a great destination for spring travel. Not only are the days finally getting warmer, but the city comes alive in its parks, cafes and streets. If you happen to be there for the city’s famous Easter Parade, it’s even more special.
Families looking to visit the Big Apple during spring break would be wise to check out two Hyatt properties in Midtown.
The Grand Hyatt, New York is one of the iconic hotels in the city. Located directly next door to — and connected to — Grand Central Station, the Grand Hyatt simply could not have a more convenient location for getting around the city. Despite its location in the heart of Manhattan, the property manages to offer visitors a sense of calm from the moment they enter the recently renovated lobby.
The massive hotel has more than 1,300 rooms, although it feels smaller than that. Families should check out the Deluxe King Rooms, which have plenty of open space (especially compared to most New York City hotels) with enough room for two rollaway twin beds for the kids. The modern rooms also feature a walk-in closet, a flat-screen television and more. Families might also like the Grand Club guestrooms, which come with access to The Grand Club lounge. At The Grand Club, guests can get daily breakfast, evening hors d’oeuvres and available bar service (for a fee).
Another option for families is the nearby Hyatt 48 Lex. This boutique property is a hidden gem, with a totally different feel than the Grand Hyatt. The 116 recently renovated rooms are stylish and modern, and the property has the vibe of a residential building, so families will feel like they have their own apartment in the heart of Midtown. Each room also features the latest technology — something most kids will find endlessly entertaining.
It’s in a great location too, with plenty of shops and eateries just blocks away, as well as a 24-hour fitness center and a full-service restaurant on site. The Lexicon Lounge on the second floor offers pastries and coffee in the morning and snacks in the afternoon, all complimentary.
Whether your clients are looking for a reliable classic such as the Grand Hyatt or they want to discover their own gem in the Hyatt 48 Lex, both hotels will not disappoint. www.hyatt.com
