California’s epic rainfall may have ended the state’s drought, but it has had devastating effects on Big Sur. The area has become inaccessible by road due to the destruction of a local bridge on Highway 1, and its tourism industry has come to a halt — until now.
On April 20, Post Ranch Inn introduced its new Escape Through The Skies package, which includes roundtrip helicopter flights from Monterey Regional Airport to the coastal property. Available for stays of two or more nights in April and May, the package also includes accommodations; daily breakfast, lunch and dinner at Sierra Mar; and activities and amenities including yoga classes, nature walks, stargazing and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy spring in Big Sur without the crowds.
And yes, it’s a deal to stay longer: The rate includes accommodations, plus a one-time charge of $500 for everything else.
