April 22, 2021, marked the 51st year that Earth Day has been celebrated in the U.S., but this year’s holiday was especially significant for Preferred Hotel Group. Not only is the hotel company basking in the recent launch of Beyond Green (its new brand of 27 sustainably minded hotels), but it also unveiled new perks for eco-conscious travel advisors.

Starting on Earth Day, travel advisors who booked with Preferred Hotel Group until the end of April were able to redeem their I Prefer reward points in $5, $10 or $20 increments as direct donations for the Ocean Heroes Network, a nonprofit organization supporting emerging youth leaders who are dedicated to ocean health and conservation.

Additionally, bookings that are made from now through Sept. 30 (for travel through the end of 2021) will include an additional 5,000 I Prefer points and 3% bonus commission for travel advisors. Agents can book the Beyond Green portfolio via the brand’s new GDS chain code, “LE” (standing for “Love Earth”).

“Over the years, in speaking with advisors about sustainable travel, I was met with a common refrain, ‘We are inspired, we care, and we want to be part of the growing movement of travel that gives back in positive ways to the people and places we visit,’” said Costas Christ, brand leader of Beyond Green and president of Beyond Green Travel, also an entity of Preferred Hotel Group. “But advisors had no way to easily identify the hotels that are truly doing it right. The launch of Beyond Green answers that question for today’s travel advisors.”
