To better serve travelers with disabilities, the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) has launched a new education course that helps advisors plan inclusive experiences.
Developed in partnership with Accessible Travel Solutions, the course will be offered as part of ASTA’s Verified Travel Advisor (VTA) elective program. It will equip advisors with practical tools to better service travelers with disabilities such as providing guidance on understanding accessibility responsibilities, designing experiences that meet a wide range of mobility needs and implementing strategies that enhance their business operations.
“Travel advisors want to serve every client well, but accessibility can feel complex without the right guidance,” said John Sage, CEO of Accessible Travel Solutions. “This course equips advisors with practical tools and clear frameworks so they can confidently support travelers with disabilities and create truly inclusive travel experiences.”
According to ASTA, millions of travelers worldwide are seeking travel experiences that can accommodate their mobility, sensory and cognitive needs. The organization says that accessible travel is one of the fastest growing yet underrepresented sectors in the industry.
