John Lovell, president of Travel Leaders Network, is departing his role at the end of June to join Virgin Voyages as board member and senior advisor. Lindsay Pearlman, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Travel Leaders, will take over as president of the network.

Lovell, who has overseen more than $20 billion in annual travel sales as president of Travel Leaders Group, a division of Internova Travel Group, will work directly with Virgin Voyages CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu on commercial strategy and global expansion efforts. His appointment comes as Virgin Voyages prepares for the launch of its fourth ship, Brilliant Lady, in September 2025.

The executive brings nearly three decades of experience in building relationships between advisors, suppliers and brands. His 2024 induction into the Cruise Lines International Association Hall of Fame reflects his impact on the advisor community and cruise travel evolution.

"John Lovell has made a lasting impact on Internova," said J.D. O'Hara, CEO of Internova Travel Group. "His commitment to supporting travel advisors and agencies has been key to solidifying our role as an industry leader. His legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire us. While we will miss him, I know that everyone at Internova wishes John success in his new role."

At Virgin Voyages, Lovell will serve as a strategic advisor across key growth priorities and work as a thought partner to the existing commercial and sales leadership team. The appointment represents part of Virgin Voyages' strategy to increase advisor-driven revenue and expand its global market presence.

"Virgin Voyages is doing more than building a cruise line; they're defining what the next era of cruise travel is going to entail," Lovell said. "From their unwavering commitment to travel advisors to the way they've redefined the onboard experience, this brand leads with authenticity, innovation and heart. That's rare. I've spent my career championing meaningful partnerships and helping advisors thrive, and I believe Virgin Voyages is the most exciting opportunity in cruise today."

Virgin’s Saverimuttu emphasized the significance of the appointment.

"Landing a leader like John Lovell is a monumental, defining moment for Virgin Voyages,” he said. “When someone with his reputation, experience and a $20 billion portfolio chooses to join your team, it's a powerful signal that you're building something extraordinary."
