Northstar Travel Group (the parent company of TravelAge West) has announced several changes to its executive leadership team.
Mary Pat Sullivan will expand her role at the company in the new position of executive vice president of marketing and partnerships. While continuing to develop marketing initiatives for Northstar and building partnerships with both the company’s audience and supplier partners, she will also now contribute to the strategic direction of the Retail Travel Group and lead its sales team.
“For more than two decades, I have worked or consulted for these brands, and in my current role, I am involved in the day-to-day operations of the Retail Travel Group — so, this is a natural progression for our team and continues my work within the industry to strengthen and evolve the Northstar portfolio,” Sullivan said. “I look forward to executing in the initiatives and strategies Anthony Carnevale and our entire leadership team have developed."
Sullivan’s expanded role comes as Anthony Carnevale, the Retail Travel Group’s current senior vice president and group publisher, transitions to a new position outside the company. As of Aug. 4, Carnevale will leave Northstar to join the Avis Budget Group as its new vice president of commercial accounts and mid-market.
“I would like to thank Anthony for his contributions and commitment to Northstar for the past 12 years,” said Bob Sullivan, chief commercial officer and president of Northstar Travel Group. “From elevating the BTN brand to navigating the challenges of COVID-19 to leading our entire Retail Group through the integration of the TravelPulse portfolio and the expansion of our presence in the market, he has played a crucial role in the company’s growth. We wish him success in his next chapter at Avis Budget Group.
The Northstar leadership team anticipates a seamless transition, thanks to Sullivan’s extensive experience with the Retail Group brands and her decades of industry acumen.
“The travel industry is seeing so much robust activity, and we are excited to be here for our partners and advisors,” Bob Sullivan added. “Our group is in great hands as we look to go forward. The combination of Mary Pat and Alicia Evanko-Lewis, our executive vice president of global events, gives us a world-class leadership team as we forge ahead and help the industry embrace the world of travel.”
