In 2024, Travel Leaders Network's (TLN) consumer website, TravelLeaders.com, saw an increase in traffic that provided unique insights into traveler behavior and preferences; last year, TLN received more than 300,000 leads from the website.

"From the over 300,000 leads that came through TravelLeaders.com in 2024, it is safe to say that travel advisors are more valued than ever...” said John Lovell, president of TLN. “Travel's popularity is showing no signs of slowing down."

Who Was Visiting Travel Leaders’ Website?

The platform saw the highest user volume in major cities, including New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and Miami. Travelers aged 35 to 54 represented the largest demographic group accessing the site.

The data revealed that users were highly prepared, having conducted significant research before consulting travel advisors. Many were "infrequent travelers" seeking to book bucket-list vacations and looking for expert guidance to maximize their travel experiences.

Which Vacations Were Most Popular?

In the first quarter of 2024, travelers showed a heavy demand for Disney trips, romance travel and family group travel. The second quarter saw a rise in travel focused on gathering with family and friends. During the third quarter, honeymoon trips gained popularity, with increased interest in all-inclusive resorts. In the final quarter of the year, travelers were primarily focused on milestone events such as birthdays, anniversaries, and group celebrations in large villa rentals.

Where Were Travelers Heading?

Jamaica emerged as the most-searched Caribbean destination during the second, third and fourth quarters of the year. The Dominican Republic was the top choice for travelers from July to September. Toward the end of the year, the Bahamas, Aruba and Puerto Rico began to gain more traction among travelers.

Meanwhile, in Europe, Italy, Greece, and the United Kingdom maintained steady interest throughout the year. Portugal and Ireland drew particular attention in the fourth quarter, while Switzerland experienced a notable increase in travel inquiries during the same period.
