What: Mammoth Welcomes a New Ski Property

Mammoth Lakes, Calif., a major ski destination located in central California about a five-hour drive from Los Angeles, recently welcomed its newest property. Sierra Nevada Resort, an Outbound Hotel, features 179 guestrooms that are made up of deluxe rooms, fireplace suites and chalets. The hotel — a reimagining of the historic 1967 property that was once a getaway for Hollywood elite — also features a contemporary dining venue and a wine bar.

Why It Matters: Travel Advisors Have Another Option for Mammoth-Bound Clients

Mammoth is one of the most popular ski resorts in North America, and this new property gives travel advisors another option for clients, particularly families and small groups. The hotel’s 19 chalets offer multi-bedroom configurations with full kitchens and dining rooms. Select accommodations include private fireplaces, as well. The Sierra Nevada Resort is also located close to chairlifts for easy skiing, and it provides complimentary shuttle service directly from the property. The resort’s on-site Outbound Adventure Center features rental equipment and concierge services.

Fast Facts: Sierra Nevada Resort Features Cabins, a Restaurant and a New Booking Package

-Coming in April 2023, a collection of 10 newly built one-bedroom cabins will be added to the property.

-Bar Sierra, the resort’s new contemporary California restaurant concept, celebrates local fare and regional brews with 16 craft beers on tap. The indoor-outdoor space includes a private dining room, al fresco dining area and a walk-up window for guests utilizing the pool. The restaurant also houses a dedicated arcade room where guests can challenge each other to vintage games like Pac-Man.

- To celebrate its grand opening, guests are invited to book the “Mammoth to the Max” limited-time offer that includes a two-night stay for two in a fireplace suite, two plush resort robes and a $150 resort gift card to use at the wine bar, Bar Sierra restaurant or gift shop. The experience starts at $370/night, and Sierra Nevada Resort offers nightly rates from $199.

What They Are Saying: The Reimagined Property Pays Homage to Its Host Destination

“It’s been an honor to thoughtfully restore and reimagine this historic property while keeping intact its early Hollywood legacy and unbridled spirit,” said Brent Truax, managing director for Sierra Nevada Resort, an Outbound Hotel. “We couldn’t be prouder to debut the destination’s newest basecamp in time for ski season and welcome back adventurers to help us celebrate a new era for Sierra Nevada Resort, with the same warm mountain hospitality we’ve always been known for.”
