Big Valley Jamboree (BVJ), touted as the biggest country music festival on the continent, will hold its 20th annual festival this August in Camrose, Alberta. BVJ will be held from Aug. 2-5, and tickets are now available at varying prices.
This year’s performers will include Blake Sheldon, Toby Keith, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts and many more on multiple stages over the four days of festival activities. Past performers at the festival include country music superstars such as LeAnne Rimes, The Judds, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Trisha Yearwood, Sugarland and Carrie Underwood among others.
In addition to the music, other activities will be available for concert-goers. This includes everything from bull riding to a songwriters’ workshop. On Sunday morning, BVJ will include a gospel service, held at the Songwriters Workshop tent at 9 a.m. All three days will also feature the Marketplace Tradeshow, at which the latest merchandise and crafts are on display and available for purchase.
For family fun, the 11th annual BVJ Parade will be held on Thursday morning at the Camrose City Center, featuring floats and entertainment. Visitors can witness the best and bravest young cowboys and cowgirls at the Canadian Finals Rodeo Wild Pony Show, or take in the action at the West Coast Lumberjack Show on Thursday and Friday. Those looking to give back to the community can start their day with a Camrose Kodiak Charity Big Valley Jamboree Breakfast, served Friday, Saturday and Sunday for only $6, with all proceeds going to Camrose Sport Development Society.
