The Disney Fantasy began Caribbean sailings March 31, following its recent christening celebration at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in New York. The fourth Disney Cruise Line ship was welcomed to the fleet with celebrity performances from Jerry Seinfeld, Neil Patrick Harris and Nick Cannon, and a christening countdown led by Mariah Carey.
“The Disney Fantasy is a spectacular addition to our fleet and builds on the creativity, innovation and artistry that are hallmarks of the Disney Cruise Line,” said Bob Iger, president and CEO of the Walt Disney Company.
Highlights of the new ship include technological displays at the “Animation Magic” dinner show and an interactive adventure game featuring the Muppets; family-focused fun with the new 1,800-square-foot water-play area, AquaLab; and relaxation at the Satellite Falls splash pool for guests 18 and older. The new ship will also premiere two new Broadway-style stage shows: “Wishes,” a signature musical, and “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular.” Itineraries will alternate Eastern and Western Caribbean seven-night sailings from Port Canaveral, Fla. www.disneytravelagents.com
