European Waterways, Europe’s largest luxury hotel barge cruise company, invites families to spend the holiday season in exclusivity — cruising the River Thames aboard its eight-passenger Magna Carta luxury barge.
The four-night, full-charter Christmas cruise begins with afternoon tea and mince pies on Christmas Eve at the five-star Stafford Hotel in London. Onboard the barge, guests will enjoy champagne, a gourmet dinner of regional dishes and readings from “A Christmas Carol,” which can be followed by an optional Christmas Eve mass. Christmas Day offers a traditional service in the 1,000-year-old Westminster Abbey, hot mulled wine and a traditional Christmas feast. The cruise also includes a tour of Windsor Castle.
A five-night New Year’s cruise aboard the Magna Carta, also available as a charter, begins on Dec. 28. New Year’s Eve celebrations include dinner, an elaborate onboard party and more.
