Tour operator Grandtravel, which specializes in tours for grandparents and their grandchildren, is doubling the number of tours it offers in 2010.

Deluxe offerings for 2010 include Alaskan Adventure; Italy’s Splendor; London and Paris; and Washington, D.C. and Williamsburg, Va., each with two summer departures.
On the 10-day Alaskan Adventure, clients will visit with Jeff King, a four-time winner of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race; land on a glacier in a helicopter; raft in Denali National Park; take a sternwheeler riverboat ride along the Chena and Tanana rivers; pan for gold; and view the world’s largest chocolate waterfall.
Departures are offered on July 9 and Aug. 13 and prices for adults and children ages 12 to 17 are $6,595 per person, based on double occupancy, and $5,995 per person, based on triple occupancy. For children ages 7 to 11, the cost is $6,195 per person, based on double occupancy, and $5,695 per person, based on triple occupancy.
As an American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Preferred Travel Partner, clients who are AARP members receive an additional $200 per person discount on all escorted tour vacations as well.
