For the second year, Hong Kong will host its International Wine & Dine Festival on the West Kowloon waterfront from Oct. 28-31. The premier food and wine event debuted last year to rave reviews, drawing more than 150 exhibitors and 70,000 visitors in total — 12,000 international visitors alone — and this year, event organizers have added an additional day of festivities.
This year’s event features more than 160 wine exhibitors from around the world, including France, Australia, Spain and the U.S., as well as a Grand Tasting Pavilion for sampling rare wines. Food offerings include Chinese seafood and barbecue specialties, as well as cuisine from Thailand, India, Singapore, Korea and Japan. Demonstrations on wine and food pairings, cooking classes and wine appreciation classes with master chefs and sommeliers will also be held.
“Like everything else Hong Kong does, we’re pulling out all the stops for the Wine and Dine Festival,” said Bill Flora, director, USA, for the Hong Kong Tourism Board. “It’s generating enormous buzz in the epicurean community as one of the preeminent food festivals in what is surely one of the world’s greatest settings in which to celebrate and enjoy the best in food and wine.”
Following October’s Wine & Dine Festival is the November Wine & Dine month throughout Hong Kong, during which travelers and locals alike can partake in themed tours, hotel promotions, special merchant offers and weekly promotions in key food districts.
