Imperial Tours, a China-based tour operator, is offering new training for travel agents who would like to become experts on China. The training will provide participants with the latest in-depth destination and hotel information as well as strategies for up-selling to clients.
“Through this educational opportunity, agents’ knowledge of China will grow so that they can more effectively sell travel to this mystical and intriguing part of the world, while also enjoying added cash and in-kind benefits,” said Guy Rubin, co-founder and managing partner of Imperial Tours.
The four-part training program commences in November with each session running one hour.
Training Session #1, “Introduction to Imperial Tours & China’s Essential Destinations”Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. ESTThe first training session highlights Imperial Tours’ key points of difference and provides an introduction to some of the country’s essential destinations — Beijing and Xian — including accommodations.
Training Session #2 “Traveling Through China’s Distinctive Destinations”Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. ESTThe second session provides agents with information on destinations such as serene and scenic Guilin to cosmopolitan Shanghai as well as charming, less-explored destinations such as nearby Hangzhou, Suzhou and Huangshan.
Training Session #3 “Intriguing China: From the Mythical & Exotic to the Vibrant & Cosmopolitan”Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. ESTAgents will learn about some of China’s fabled distinctive destinations (including the Yangtze River, the Three Gorges Dam, Chengdu, Lijiang, Shangri-La, Dunhuang and Lhasa). The discussion then focuses on the south, exploring the historical gateways of Hong Kong and Macau and ending with a discussion about Sanya, known as China’s Hawaii.
Training Session #4 “The Imperial Experience – A Personal Fitting”Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. ESTThis final session showcases what makes Imperial Tours unique — insider access, knowledgeable experts and special activities — to enhance a client’s experience in China. Sample itineraries by customer segment (for example – honeymooners, young families and the MICE market) will be outlined as well as information about scheduled small-group tours.
