Scenic Cruises has announced that the cruise line will be sending a dedicated ship to France in 2013 with the deployment of the Scenic Emerald on itineraries along the Rhone and Saone rivers in the South of France. Not only do guests visit a variety of ports, but they also experience exclusive cultural immersion in each — that range from a home-cooked traditional meal in a local French house to a visit to a farm in La Camargue and a guided tour of the Palais des Papes in Avignon.
The Scenic Emerald will operate a wide range of nine- to 23-day river cruises exploring France and its waterways. The 11- and 14-day Paris to Nice & France itineraries combine time in the “City of Lights” with a nine-day cruise from Chalon-sur-Saone to Arles. A 14-day South of France sailing adds four days and additional ports to a similar 10-day itinerary, and a 15-day Rhine and Rhone cruise combines two majestic rivers with cities such as Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Basel, Lyon, and Avignon, France. For those seeking a longer cruise experience. The 23-day Normandy, Loire Valley & France River Cruise combines the 10-day cruise with two nights in the Loire Valley as well as time to explore in Paris, Rouen and the Normandy Beaches.
Emerald’s accommodations include 315-square-foot Royal Suites and 250-suare-foot Junior Sites, both with private butler service. All accommodations have a flat-screen television and an infotainment system plus wireless Internet access. Amenities include L'Occitane bath products, a minibar, a personal safe, plush bathrobes and a hairdryer. The queen-size Scenic Slumber Beds are furnished with Egyptian linens.
Scenic is guaranteeing its Early Bird offers for 2013 at 2012 rates if booked by May 31. Should Scenic Tours change the offer upon release of its regular brochure, guests who booked during the Early Bird period will be given the offer with the highest value. Other benefits of early booking include the best choice of cabins and departure dates, a $50 per person onboard credit and any regular brochure specials and upgrades pertaining to a specific itinerary.
