For 2010, tour operator Trafalgar is showcasing a total of 10 Family Experiences vacations designed especially for families and including destinations such as Italy, Spain and the American Southwest.

The decision to expand the number of offerings in 2010, according to Trafalgar Tours president Paul Wiseman, was due to the success of last year’s itineraries.
“Our 2009 Family Experiences itineraries were extremely successful last year, particularly in our USA and Canada program, so, for 2010, we’ve added more itineraries both to our North American and European programs,” said Wiseman. “We’ve seen a growing trend of multigenerational families traveling together, grandparents, teenage children, parents and youngsters, all wanting to enjoy being with each other while discovering new destinations and experiences.”
Wiseman said that families can save up to 30 percent off the cost of setting up a family vacation on their own when they book a Family Experience with Trafalgar instead. Discounts of up to 10 percent are also available for travelers ages 5 to 17 and clients can save on triple- and quad-room sharing. A 5 percent savings is also offered to groups of five or more traveling together, as well as to repeat Trafalgar clients.
Wiseman added, “All of Trafalgar’s Family Experiences are scheduled to operate during the periods of time that coincide with most school holidays, as well as throughout the summer.”
