Industry Leaders Gather for Tahiti Tourisme Event

Jul 04, 2014

On June 18 and 19, Tahiti Tourisme North America brought together 100 tour operators, travel agents, cruise line representatives, hoteliers, airline officials and other members of the industry for the Tahiti Business Forum held in Manhattan Beach, Calif. The forum was an opportunity for Tahiti Tourisme to provide business development and networking to its partners as well as unveil the destination’s new global branding campaign.

“The words that came to mind when I saw Tahiti’s new logo were ‘exciting’ and ‘bold,’ and both of those words perfectly describe Tahiti,” said Gretchen MacKnight of Perfect Honeymoons/Holidays Travel in Escondido, Calif. “Tahiti’s new branding has an edge.”

In addition to the Industry Challenges & Creative Solutions workshop and a travel agent panel, editors from Travel + Leisure, Brides and Islands, as well as a producer of “The Bachelorette,” which was filmed in Tahiti in 2010, spoke about the importance of public relations and working with the media. Two keynote speakers also took the stage: Skye Mayring from TravelAge West spoke about “Outbound Travel Trends and the Millennial Traveler,” and John C. Anderson from Robb Report presented on “Insights Into the Luxury Traveler.” www.tahiti-tourisme.com
