TripAdvisor has named the 10 highest-rated green hotels in the U.S. using data collected through an eco-survey of more than 2,100 users. Bardessono, a boutique hotel in Yountville, Calif., was named the top green hotel by respondents. The property boasts a subterranean geothermal system that provides heating and air-conditioning, as well as two onsite gardens that supply produce for the hotel’s Lucy Restaurant and Bar. Allison Inn & Spa in Newberg, Ore., was the second-highest rated green hotel, thanks to its living eco-roof, gardens and refillable glass water bottles in every room, among other green features.
