Italy-based tour operator Italian Connection, which specializes in walking and culinary-based tours of Italy, is offering a number of custom family tours for clients of all ages this summer.

Activities include nature walks among the wildflowers in the Dolomites; soccer games with local children in Tuscany; a truffle hunt with a trifulau (truffle hunter) and his trusty dog in Piedmont; shaping chesse curds into provola (smoked bufala mozzarella) in Sicily; learning how to bet on horses during the Palio in Siena; climbing the 30-story Torre di Mangia in the Piazza del Campo; and more.

Italian Connection will customize family tours according to the group’s budget. Private family tours can be arranged for three to 10 days in length and include accommodations, guided walks, most meals, wine for the adults and unique insider experiences.

Travel agent commission is 10 percent, and Italian Connection normally offers 29 land-only tours throughout the year, not including private, custom tours.
