TravelAge West was recently honored with a Maggie Award nomination in the category of Best Tabloid Trade by the Western Publishing Association (WPA). The nomination is for the magazine’s April 26, 2010 issue with a cover story on how agents can attract the next generation of clients (“Why Gen Y?”). This is the third nomination for TravelAge West in this category.
For more than 50 years, the WPA has been addressing the needs of publications west of the Mississippi. The organization’s annual Maggie Awards are designed to honor “the best in magazine and electronic publishing in over 80 editorial and design categories.” Maggie winners include top-name consumer and trade magazines such as Sunset, Muscle & Fitness, The Advocate and SF Weekly.
TravelAge West has won five Maggies in the past five years. In addition to last year’s award for Best Trade Tabloid, the magazine has also won Maggies for Most Improved Trade Publication (2005); Best Non-Paid Trade Publication — Under 50,000 Circulation (2005, 2006); and Best Supplement (2007).
