Far and High Adventure Travel
This 10-day trip to Bhutan begins in Paro, where agents will visit the National Museum of Bhutan at Ta Dzong to learn about Bhutan’s religion, culture and history. Next, travelers will take a scenic drive to Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu, before making a stop at Tamchog Lhakhang (a 13th-century temple). In Thimphu, agents will have the chance to see the area’s weekend market, the giant statue of Buddha Dordenma and more. Other itinerary highlights include a hike to Tango Goemba Monastery and a drive to Phobjikha Valley, where advisors will see the view from Dochula Pass and visit Gangtey Gompa monastery, which serves the Nyingmapa school of Buddhism. Advisors will also attend the Nalakhar Tshechu festival, see the Jambay Lhakhang temple, visit Trongsa Dzong fortress and take a hot stone bath (optional). The trip is a motor vehicle-based tour and includes some optional day hikes. The highest altitude during the trip is 11,234 feet. The land-only rate includes accommodations, all meals, transfers, bottled water, a Bhutan visa and admission tickets.
