Adventure Smith Explorations (ASE), a global leader in small-ship cruise vacations, has announced its newly expanded cruise program. Catering to clients, who seek authentic and intimate wilderness adventures, ASE’s itineraries begin in the summer season of 2011 and include exploration of either the Eastern or Western Coves of southeast Alaska’s Inside Passage. The route avoids large cruise crowds and provides a more comprehensive look at Alaska’s wildlife.
The company’s newly renovated and spacious expedition ships, carrying only 49 passengers rather than its usual 88, will now be equipped with luxurious perks such as onboard saunas, hot tubs, yoga classes and gyms. An innovative multimedia experience will also launch onboard, as guests are encouraged to screen pictures and videos of their travels via shipwide video monitors and cabin televisions.
In addition to sailing in style, passengers partaking in sea-bound expeditions will also be allotted more time to engage in unique off-vessel activities. For the first time in ASE’s history, guests can choose from an array of different exhilarating activities, including fishing, paddle boarding, camping and snorkeling as well as in-depth wilderness explorations by foot, kayak or zodiac.
Two seven-night/eight-day itineraries will be offered with rates starting at $1,795 per person; independent trips can also be combined for a longer cruise. Families with children ages 12 and under save 25 percent on all departures, and a 30 percent discount will be given to guests booking the family itineraries, which depart on June 25, July 23 and Aug. 13.
