The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain recently launched a new selection of activities with groups in mind. The offerings reflect the physical surroundings and culture of the area, making use of the desert landscape, Native American heritage and cowboy traditions of Arizona.
Selections from the Southwestern group activities and team-building menu include the Hiking Reception, where guides lead guests along desert trails once inhabited by the Hohokam Indians. Another outdoor adventure is Southwestern Geo-Caching, where groups with GPS devices search for containers, or caches, hidden in cactus bases, desert mesquite tree trunks and arroyos. Group Ranch Adventures add a western spin to experiencing the outdoors through a partnership with The White Stallion Ranch, a century-old working cattle ranch. These activities include horseback riding by day or night, trail and hayrides, live cattle penning or the Saturday Rodeo and include western-themed meals. Another way to connect with nature and your group is through Yoga Breakfast, an instructor-led outdoor class followed by a private and healthy continental breakfast.
Other food activities include the Chili, Salsa and Guacamole Challenges, which goes well paired with the Margarita Mixing Class. During the margarita class, groups will learn about tequila styles and the significance of using fresh juice in their cocktails. For winos, the Wine Blending Class teaches how to identify red varietals and how they can be blended to create more complex wines, leading to the opportunity for guests to create their own signature blend. The Farm-to-Table Cooking Class begins with a visit to a local organic farm and includes instruction by the resort chefs.
More options include the pool, such as Dining Under the Stars/Splash Dining and the Aventura Pool Party. Nighttime events include Stargazing Afterglow, led by astronomers, and Glow Golf, led by resort golf pros.
