There is a new way to get to Soaring Tree Top Adventures, a zipline park with more than 34 eco-friendly platforms, with 27 spans ranging from 56 to 1,400 feet. With no road access to Soaring’s remote location in the mountains outside of Durango, Colo., guests arrive at the park via the Durango & Silverton Railroad. Now, the train includes the new Knight Sky car, which features an open-air design.
Knight Sky is the newest addition to the Durango & Silverton Railroad’s train car fleet. The car was commissioned by Soaring’s owners and given to the Durango Railroad. The Melcher Brothers of Durango built the new first-class, open-air observation train car that includes roomy, reclining leather seating, a UV-protected, glass-paneled roof and large viewing platforms.
From mid-June through mid-August, Soaring guests have the option of riding in any of Soaring’s first-class cars: the Tall Timber Legend, the Tall Timber Legacy and, now, the Knight Sky.
The all-inclusive cost for the 5½-hour zipline adventure, including all equipment, expert Sky Ranger guides, eco-tour specialists, a four-course gourmet lunch served in the trees and roundtrip train transportation on Soaring’s first-class train cars to this full day of adventure is $449 per person. Advance reservations are required.
