Whitefish Mountain Resort, in Montana, has dubbed the 2011-2012 ski season a success, with average snowfall and above average skier visits. The resort closed the season with over 294,000 total skier visits, its fourth best season ever.
“We’re quite pleased with this year’s results. Despite a difficult start to the season, the snow and the skiers still came in very good numbers,” said Whitefish Mountain Resort president Dan Graves. “We’re lucky to be positioned in the northern Rockies for consistent year-in and year-out snowfall and certainly we are trending positive over the course of the past several years regarding the number of people visiting.”
Despite having to postpone its opening by one week due to minimal snow conditions, the resort made up for the late start with the increased snowfall of January, February and March.
In addition, in the 2011-2012 season, more season passes were sold than ever before.
Whitefish Mountain Resort also received several accolades this season, from both “Ski” magazine and “National Geographic.”
