Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas’ original casino, opened its doors in 1906 and is currently celebrating the completion of its first major renovation in 50 years.
The Golden Gate’s new look draws on its historic past, with a new 35,000-square-foot, five-story addition that hosts 14 hotel suites and a design that pays tribute to notable guests such as the Rat Pack. The renovation also includes two vintage showgirl-inspired penthouses, an expanded casino floor, a new lobby with hotel artifacts, a restoration of the building’s original facade and more.
“The expansion and renovation of the Golden Gate preserves and enhances a Las Vegas legacy — not only this classic 106-year-old building, but the Las Vegas spirit and the mystique it embodies,” said president and co-owner Mark Brandenburg. “Throughout the renovations, our goal was clear: remain true to our vintage Vegas character and deliver an experience that is original, people-centric and bursting with energy.”
