The Wet ‘n’ Wild Las Vegas water park is returning to Las Vegas and is scheduled to open in May 2013. It will replace the Las Vegas’ Splash Canyon water park that was closed in 2004, making room for a casino that was never built.
“This will be an incredible water park, the perfect addition for this fun-filled town, featuring a huge range of experiences designed for both families and thrill seekers,” said Las Vegas local and Wet ‘n’ Wild investor Andre Agassi.
The $50 million, 41-acre water park will feature more than 25 varied attractions, including a 60-foot free fall on Canyon Cliffs, a more relaxing Colorado Cooler floating ride, an interactive children’s aquatic playground and a giant wave pool. The park plans to offer rides suitable for the whole family, and can potentially entertain up to 650,000 people annually.
