Visitors to New Mexico will want to sample the state’s renowned chiles and the Hyatt Regency Tamaya is making it easy to do so during chile season. The 2012 Chile Harvest package is available every weekend through Oct. 13.
Features of the package include a dinner at the Corn Maiden restaurant, accompanied by a restaurant’s chef, who will teach them about the history of the chile in New Mexico as well as its preparation and use. Guests will also be taken to the Grower’s Market in Corrales, N.M., with a resort chef who helps guests choose chiles for their dinner. At the resort, guests roast their chiles in preparation for dinner. A spa treatment that features the chile, the chile-infused Ancient Drumming treatment at the Tamaya Mist Spa, follows. Then it’s time for dinner in a private area by the resort’s outdoor fire pit. After dinner, which features the chiles picked earlier, guests receive Chile Martinis. Two breakfasts at the Santa Ana Cafe are also included. The resort follows up with guests with a gift of a chile ristra, a one-foot-long decorative string of dried red chiles, as well as chile recipes.
