SXSW Announces More Bands

The South by Southwest (SXSW) Music and Media conference has announced its third wave of music artists scheduled to perform at the 27th edition of the festival. This year’s event will take place Tuesday, March 12 through Sunday, March 17, in downtown Austin, Texas. The new announcement brings the total number of scheduled bands to nearly 1,300, with more to come.

The current list of bands includes artists such as Vampire Weekend, A Fine Frenzy, Kris Allen, Matt Nathanson, Local Natives, The Limousines, Hey Marseilles, Ghost Beach, The Stargazer Lilies, The Thermals, Zion I and many others.

SXSW presents musical performances from more than 2,000 regional, national and international bands and recording artists. Attendees also have access to panels, talks, a trade show, a Music Gear Expo and other conference activities. Schedules and more band announcements will be released at a later date. Music badges, which give attendees access to all SXSW-sponsored music conference events and shows, cost $750 per person. Wristbands allow access to music showcases and cost $179.
