Skamania Lodge, a resort located in the Columbia River Gorge, is adding a zip line course that will take adventurers through the tree canopy, over trails and past the golf course.
“Hiking, biking and our numerous other excursions are fantastic ways to explore the gorge, but soaring high above the ground through the tree-filled landscape gives visitors an entirely different perspective on and appreciation for the natural beauty of the area,” said Scott Spann, general manager at Skamania Lodge. “We are thrilled to add yet another unique and fun activity for guests to enjoy.”
Construction on the course began in mid-September 2012, with an expected completion date of late November 2012.
The family-friendly course includes six zip lines and three sky bridges, with short hikes in between. Visitors will fly up to 100 feet off the ground and reach speeds near 45 mph. The course tour is estimated to take guests two hours from start to finish.
Located in Stevenson, Wash., which is 45 minutes east of Portland, Ore., Skamania Lodge is an all-season mountain resort and conference center. It offers 254 guest rooms, a 22,000-square-foot conference center, spa and fitness center, indoor swimming pool and hot tubs, an 18-hole par-70 golf course and 18-hole putting course.
