Visitors to Buenos Aires will probably want to take in a tango show in one of the city's many clubs, but when they are done with that traditional option, agents should recommend they head over to Centro Cultural Recoleta theater to experience something a bit more eclectic: Fuerza Bruta.
The show __ which is part performance art, part rave and part drumming circle __ has toured all over the world. Though Fuerza Bruta has a longstanding home in New York City, it was created in Buenos Aires. It provides an experience that is mesmerizing at times, humorous at other times and interactive at all times. (Warn clients that some audience members will get wet.)
It's difficult to explain Fuerza Bruta, and that's OK: It's more fun to be surprised. It combines electronic dance music and live drumming, and utilizes clever stage devices and lighting to enhance the unique Cirque du Soleil-style performances.
Audiences stand during the 70-minute show, which uses strobe lights, moving projections, loud noises, water, mist and fog. That said, it's probably best to recommend it to adventurous clients who are ready for anything __ although, anyone young at heart will find something to like.
Whatever it is, Fuerza Bruta certainly is not boring.
