Puerto Vallarta is considered one of the dream spots to visit in Mexico. I’d definitely have to agree with that after my family took a trip there over spring break.
My sister, Katelyn, and I had only been to Puerto Vallarta once before, when we were 5 and 3 years old, so it was surprising to see all the cultural differences and the way people lived. One night just before sundown, we walked around downtown Puerto Vallarta and watched as a group of performers dressed in traditional outfits performed a customary ceremony. They swung down a long pole hanging from a rope tied to their feet. We felt nervous watching, as we feared they might fall.
On our last day, we went ziplining. We started early, waking up at 7 a.m. to catch a bus to head over to the jungle. It was so much fun flying across all the exotic trees and rivers. We learned so much, especially about native plants and ziplining safety. After we were done, we swam in a natural swimming pool in the river. There was a rope swing and a giant natural rock waterslide that ended in a river pool filled with all types of fish!
I’d recommend this trip to anyone thirsty for adventure and some Vitamin D. It’s a great place to enjoy the beauty of Mexico while on a budget.(I’d just recommend bringing some extra sunscreen.)
