Kids can take the lead at Sheraton Macao Hotel through its recently launched Junior Hotelier program. The playful weekend initiative, which runs through June 28, gives little ones ages 4 to 12 a behind-the-scenes look at hotel operations, from room setup to food service.
Each training program lasts about two hours and focuses on a different hotel job. For example, Junior Chefs will don the appropriate hat and apron while working alongside hotel chef Richard Lao, rolling dough and prepping icing for hand-decorated cookies. After taking lessons on the importance of guest relations and how to run the front desk and handle luggage, a Junior Agent can share info about guestrooms with travelers. Once in their room, guests will find towels folded into animals resting atop a neatly made bed — both the careful handiwork of a Junior Housekeeper.
Prices are set at $20 for one day or $30 for the weekend. At the completion of their program, trainees will receive a certificate and a stamp on their Sheraton Macao Hotel Junior Hotelier Passport. Those who fill up their passport with stamps from all four courses will receive additional prizes.
Grown-ups can join the fun for a small additional fee.
