With summer in full swing, agents may find themselves in the
midst of bookings boom. Following are a few family-oriented discounts and deals to suggest before the season’s end.
Save on Travel to BermudaClients can save with the Family Getaway Package from Fairmont Southampton in Southampton, Bermuda. As part of the year-round deal, families have complimentary access to the resort’s Explorer’s Kids Camp and a welcome amenity gift for children upon check-in. Additionally, kids 12 and under will receive free items on the kids’ menu, and children 18 years old and under will receive a 50 percent discount off food from the adults’ menu.
Additionally, families who book stays through Aug. 31 can save 50 percent on a second connecting room for children, while families who stay at the property from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31 will receive a second connecting room at no extra cost.
Have a Sweet Experience At COMO The Treasury in AustraliaCOMO The Treasury in Perth, Australia, is offering a special Family City Escape package this summer. The deal, which is valid until Sept. 30, includes two rooms — one offered at half price — for a two-night stay. Additionally, adults will enjoy free champagne while children receive complimentary hot chocolate upon arrival; children under the age of 12 will eat for free at Post restaurant; and all guests will have access to the “Sweets Trail,” which leads them around the resort while they fill a goody bag of treats. Rates for the package begin at $1,790.50.
Enjoy Kid-Centric Activities at The Westin in CaliforniaClients will pay room rates as low as $88 per weeknight and $138 per weekend night as part of the Crazy 8-Palm Springs summer savings offer from The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif. In addition to the low room rates, the resort offers many activities for children, such as the use of a new 75-foot looping water slide, a game room, the opportunity to visit and feed resident wildlife and more.
The package provides guests with other discounts throughout the resort as well, including $8 hamburgers and fries at Dilbert’s Diner and an $8 per-child hourly rate at the Westin Kids Club. The summer discount is available through September.
Kids Cruise Free With Dolphin Star in HawaiiDolphin Star is allowing kids ages 3 to 11 to cruise for free with each paying adult on the Wild Dolphin Watch cruise. During the two-hour trip, clients will experience panoramic ocean views and may spot a pod of dolphins along the Waianae coastline of Oahu. Once guests are onboard the two-deck, 149-passenger vessel, a certified crew of naturalists are able to offer insight on wild dolphins and marine life, while children can participate in an interactive program and receive a souvenir activity book.
The Wild Dolphin Watch, which departs once a day at 9:30 a.m., is $66 per adult. The promotion runs through Sept. 30.
El Al Israel Airlines Offers Discounted AirfareFamilies headed to Israel can save on airfare with El Al Israel Airlines’ summer promotion, valid on nonstop flights from select U.S. airports. In order to qualify for the special $1,299 roundtrip fare, clients must depart from New York’s JFK Airport, New Jersey’s Newark Airport or Boston Logan Airport by Aug. 18. Families can also save on airfare from Los Angeles for departures through Aug. 13. Additionally, children ages 3 to 13 years old are eligible for savings of at least $200.
El Al currently provides 30 nonstop flights between the U.S. and Israel every week and is the only nonstop provider flying out of Los Angeles.
Family Time at The Lanesborough in the United KingdomFamilies who book two rooms at London’s The Lanesborough for travel between Oct. 21 and Nov. 6 will receive the second room for free as a part of the five-star property’s Ultimate Family Break special (families traveling at any other time will receive the second room at a 50 percent discount).
Guests will receive a VIP welcome upon arrival; daily English breakfast at the hotel’s Celeste restaurant or in the privacy of their own room; and a gift and a special surprise in the children’s room. In order to qualify for the special, both children must be 12 years old or under.
Go on an Alaskan AdventureFamilies looking for a unique vacation can share an Alaskan experience with Great Alaska Adventures’ Family Fishing Adventure package. Any child who is 5 to 15 years old will receive a 50 percent discount when accompanied by a full-paying adult; the discount will apply to two children when accompanied by two full-paying adults. The weeklong itinerary features guided hiking, wildlife cruising, rafting and world-class fishing, among other activities. Guests have the ability to customize portions of the trip by choosing between gentle or strenuous hiking trails and between spin- or fly-fishing.
The price of the trip begins at $4,395 per person, and the kids-only discount is available through Aug. 31.
