On June 27, Universal Orlando Resort opened its newest hotel, the 750-room Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn & Suites. Vince LaRuffa, senior vice president of resort marketing and sales for Universal Orlando, notes that Surfside Inn is not only the resort’s seventh on-site property, but it also marks the first hotel in the value category for Universal Orlando.

“Surfside Inn & Suites is truly a value hotel in every respect,” LaRuffa said. “We think it’s a game-changer in the hotel marketplace, and particularly in the attractions area.”

In addition to affordable rooms — as low as $73 for standard rooms and $111 for two-room suites — dining at the surf-and-sand-themed resort is also easy on the wallet. The property features meals inspired by Southern California, food trucks and backyard barbecues; all are priced under $12.

The suite category makes up about half the resort’s inventory, allowing larger or multigenerational families to have up to six people in one room. Suites also have kitchenettes with picnic tables for a quick breakfast or in-room pizza delivery after a busy day in the parks.

“We’ve been opening hotels at Universal Orlando Resort for 20 years,” said Tom Roditus, senior vice president of operations for Loews Hotels. “Our goal was to have the right hotel for any traveler, any style or any budget. It’s really an accomplishment to have hotels in premier, preferred, prime value and, now, value categories.”

Surfside Inn & Suites’ sister property, the 2,050-room Dockside Inn & Suites, opens March 2020.
