Discover Much More of Maui at Honua Kai

Apr 01, 2013

Experience the perfect balance of exploration and relaxation at Maui’s newest luxury resort, Honua Kai Resort & Spa. Nestled on 38 oceanfront acres of Kaanapali North Beach, this resort combines the amenities of a luxury resort hotel with the comforts of home.

Offering spacious studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites, these accommodations are ideal for families and friends traveling together. Each suite features a professionally equipped kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, perfect for any amateur or gourmet chef. In-suite washers and dryers, and a separate bathroom for each bedroom are also added conveniences. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Maui and the refreshing island breeze from the expansive furnished lanai with a special fold-back glass wall.

There are many activities to enjoy on-property at Honua Kai. Refresh and relax at the Aquatic Playground, featuring a waterslide, waterfall and a sandy beach for the kids. Plus, it includes a meandering lazy river with adjoining serenity and lap pools for the ultimate rejuvenation.

Fun-loving families can take part in Hawaiian themed activities at The Family Fun Club. Enjoy hula dancing, flower lei making, nature scavenger hunts, Hawaiian storytelling, and many others. Adults can participate with the kids or get active at the resort’s Fitness Center offering top-quality equipment or the Fitness Classroom featuring a variety of classes for every fitness level.

Just steps away, visit world-famous Kaanapali Beach. Take a stroll along the white sand, a dip in the sea, or take a front row seat to watch the humpback whales play right off shore. There are many land and sea adventures within a short five-minute drive of Honua Kai Resort. Aina (land) activities include hikes, golfing, zip lining, ATV outings and horseback riding. Some Kai (ocean) options are snorkeling in Honolua Bay Marine Reserve, parasailing, and stand up paddling or surfing lessons.

To help guests explore the Valley Isle, Honua Kai Resort & Spa created their popular Room & Car Package. Combining a room with a vehicle of choice allows guests to discover more of Maui. The friendly Honua Kai Concierge can help plan the perfect island excursion. Take a day trip along the legendary road to Hana with its 620 curves and 59 bridges — leading through rainforests, waterfalls and pristine pools. Or head out early to watch the sunrise at spectacular Haleakala, and meander though Upcountry, the home of the Hawaiian paniolo.

Honua Kai’s dining venues are a culinary adventure. Duke’s Beach House provides exceptional oceanfront dining while paying homage to the restaurant’s namesake, legendary surfer and waterman Duke Kahanamoku. Serving fresh locally sourced ingredients for breakfast, lunch, dinner or cocktails. The Hawaiian-influenced cuisine focuses on fresh sustainable ingredients, including seafood and premium steaks. Cocktails are often accompanied by entertainment.

Aina Gourmet Market is a charming café with a full coffee bar, pastries, prepared salads, Panini sandwiches, and healthy grab-and-go meals. The market is based on the concept of using products within a 100-mile radius — stocking produce from Maui first, preferably from smaller farms and island based businesses. Along with prepared meals, they offer a wide selection of grocery items, snacks, wines and spirits as well as gift items. The BBQ grilling areas are popular with families and friends to create masterpieces for en suite dining experiences — ideal for gatherings or entertaining.

Thanks to Hawaii’s mild temperatures and rich volcanic soil, Hawaiian coffee has been grown locally for 200 years and is treasured all over the world. To celebrate the anniversary of this valued island tradition, Honua Kai created its newest promotional package, the Aina Gourmet Coffee Experience. Offering resort guests 5 nights in a 1 or 2 bedroom suite, a compact rental car, a tour and lunch at O’o Farm for two, a $200 gift certificate for a coffee-themed gourmet meal at Pacific’O Restaurant, and an Aina Gourmet Amenity Basket. From now through December 15th, guests can experience this Maui coffee tradition at Honua Kai Resort & Spa.

Whether guests are seeking adventure, rejuvenation or reconnection, Honua Kai Resort & Spa sets the stage for unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences to unfold. For reservations and information, please contact a travel professional, or call the Honua Kai Resort & Spa directly at 855-876-8908, or visit www.honuakai.com.
