On April 15, Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Holistic Retreat & Spa
unveiled a fresh concept that has health-conscious travelers
buzzing. Located on the Pacific Ocean side of the Baja Peninsula in
Cabo San Lucas, the new 140-room/14-suite beachside retreat is the
area’s first luxury resort that is totally committed to health and
wellness.
With the retreat’s secluded nature, guests are immersed in a
self-contained world of natural beauty the desert in one direction
and the ocean in the other. All visitors are encouraged to rid
themselves of worldly concerns when entering Pacifica, donning
instead a peaceful state of mind and plush slippers provided by the
resort. All oceanview accommodations are Zen-inspired, minimally
dressed with the finest natural materials.
The highlight of the retreat is Pacifica’s full-scale fitness
facility and Armonia Spa, maintained under the watchful eye of the
resort’s general manager, Dr. Alejandro Santander.
“Armonia Spa is unique because it was created to focus on
wellness rituals and to meet the individual needs and goals of
guests,” commented Enrique Gandara, corporate director of sales
& marketing for Pueblo Bonito Hotels & Resorts. “It's also
impeccably maintained by the resort’s general manager, Dr.
Alejandro Santander, who is a medical doctor specializing in
health, wellness and holistic treatments.”
Armonia Spa features six treatment rooms and a VIP couple’s
treatment chamber, a Watsu pool, a Temazcal, signature treatments,
and individualized wellness consultations based on the holistic
philosophy of treating body, mind and spirit as one. Only natural
healing ingredients are used at Armonia, with many derived from the
retreat’s prevailing environmental elements of cactus and the
sea.
When it comes to refueling, Pacifica’s signature restaurant,
Siempre, presents market fresh ingredients highlighted in both the
wellness-oriented spa menu and a more indulgent “splurge” menu. In
addition, 24-hour room service, the poolside restaurant-bar, and
two additional cafes and bars (including a juice bar) are available
for palate pleasing.
Pacifica is celebrating its grand debut with special nightly
rates of $195 per person through December. Once a room is booked,
agents can customize their clients’ visit by choosing from several
add-on packages that can be arranged either before or once the
guest arrives. The program allows the benefits of a package, yet
has the flexibility of add-ons that accommodate an individual’s
specific interests and treatment paths.
“The packages offered at Armonia Spa are designed to allow
guests to achieve their personal goals, whether it’s pure
relaxation or specific therapeutic results,” Gandara said. “This is
helpful because it takes the guesswork out of what treatments
compliment each other. Guests simply choose the package that most
suites their needs.”
The Total Wellness Package includes an Ayurveda Abhyanga
massage, Reiki session, Temazcal spiritual cleansing ritual and
sacred therapeutic desert hot stone massage for $425 per person.
Priced at $333 per person, the Relaxation and Rejuvenation plan
includes Boga (beach yoga) session, Temazcal ritual, signature
cactus body wrap and Shiroabhyanga massage. An Active Relaxation
option covers Boga session, Tai Chi class, Watsu pool therapy
session and Temazcal ritual for $242 per person.
The Pueblo Bonito Hotels & Resorts collection includes three
properties in Cabo San Lucas Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort
& Spa, Pueblo Bonito Rose and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos; two in
Mazatlan Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan and Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay; and
the all-inclusive Samba Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta. This year, the
company will break ground on Pueblo Bonito Punta Mita, a five-star
resort which will be located near Puerto Vallarta.
