Casa Velas Expands its Medical Tourism Program

Jan 28, 2011

With reports noting that medical tourism will be a $100 billion industry by 2012, Casa Velas has expanded its medical program, combining the most advanced elective procedures with a recuperation stay. Here’s how it works: The adults-only all-inclusive boutique hotel and ocean club in Puerto Vallarta works in conjunction with the board-certified, bilingual doctors of Amerimed, a network of hospitals in Mexico adhering to U.S. healthcare standards. The hotel supplements its preexisting noninvasive Wellness Program with new sets of elective surgeries and cosmetic procedures. Treatments ranging from facelifts, tummy tucks, rhinoplasties, mammoplasties and gastric bypass, to Botox, varicose vein treatments are available. Following procedures, Casa Velas provides a base for recuperation where patients receive 24/7 personal attention from the staff as well as visits from qualified medical personnel to attend to post-surgery needs.

A vital part of the recuperative process is a personalized diet plan. These are comprised of all-natural ingredients and are created by Casa Velas’ wellness chef Fernanda Rábago, who attended Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. Meals are mainly sourced from the resort’s on-site garden, which holds more than 30 varieties of fruits, vegetables and herbs. Spa Casa Velas is a member of Leading Spas of the World, offering hotel guests and patients more than 70 holistic treatments ranging from massages and acupuncture to body wraps and facials.

For overall health and wellness, Casa Velas features the Week of Wellness Package, which includes a medical consultation and physical exam upon arrival, two acupuncture treatments, Yoga sessions, curative spa treatments and unlimited use of the spa’s hydrotherapy area. The package also provides personalized holistic menus to heal, rejuvenate and energize the body and mind. The Week of Wellness Package requires a minimum stay of four nights and starts at $285 per person, per night, based on double occupancy. Pre- or post-surgery accommodations start at $210 per person, per night, based on double occupancy.

Casa Velas all-inclusive rates include luxury accommodations, a la carte gourmet dining, premium beverages, 24-hour in-suite service, use of the in-suite minibar, private roundtrip airport transportation and all taxes and gratuities.
